FAQs

Have questions?
We have the answers!

Here you will find frequently asked questions and the corresponding answers. This section gives you quick information at a glance on issues that come up frequently for our customers and partners.

For an apprenticeship at Lessmann, we recommend that you apply about a year in advance during the summer holidays with your last annual certificate. This gives us as a company enough time to check your documents, invite you to interviews if necessary and complete the selection process. If there are still places available at a later date, you will find them on our homepage under vacancies and you can also apply at a later date.

You can either apply for specific job advertisements or submit an unsolicited application.

On your first day as a trainee at Lessmann, you can expect a structured and well-organized process that will make it easier for you to get started. The day typically begins with a welcome from your trainers. You will receive an introduction to the company, learn about the company structure and receive information about important procedures and processes at Lessmann. There will also be an introductory breakfast on your first day, which all trainees from all years of training will attend, and of course a round of introductions.

In the afternoon, you can explore the various departments on your own with a company rally. We will also go on a joint trainee excursion in your first week to make your entry into the working world easier in a relaxed atmosphere.

You can complete an internship at Lessmann. Internships are designed to give you an insight into the professions that Lessmann trains, such as industrial clerk (m/f/d), mechatronics engineer or industrial mechanic.

You can apply directly to Lessmann and gain your first professional experience in a modern, family-orientated environment. Please send us a cover letter, your CV and your most recent certificate. Important: please specify several periods in which an internship is possible, as we try to give as many interns as possible the chance to “get a taste” of our company.

We try to create a relaxed atmosphere at every interview because we want to get to know you. The respective department head and HR manager are present at the interviews. In addition to a short tour of the company and an introduction to the department, a typical interview sequence is as follows:

  • Personal introduction: You will be asked to introduce yourself, explain your career and your motivation for applying to Lessmann. Your interview partners will also briefly introduce themselves to you.
  • Technical questions: Depending on the position you are applying for, specific questions may be asked about your specialist knowledge and previous experience.
  • Personal questions: In addition to your professional qualifications, the interviewers are interested in your soft skills, ability to work in a team and your expectations of working together.
  • Questions for the company: At the end you will have the opportunity to ask questions. This is a good opportunity to find out more about your future tasks and development opportunities.

The onboarding process at Lessmann is designed to give new employees a structured and pleasant start to the company. Here are the typical steps of onboarding:

  1. Welcome and introduction: On the first day, you will be warmly welcomed by your direct manager. This is followed by a general introduction to the company and the most important processes.
  2. Company tour: There is often a tour of the various departments so that you can get to know the premises and colleagues. This provides initial orientation and makes integration easier.
  3. Equipment and training: You will receive all the necessary work tools, such as computers, access and other equipment that you need for your tasks. Training on safety regulations, company policies and relevant programs also follows.
  4. Mentorship: It is common for you to be assigned a contact person or mentor who will be at your side during the first few weeks, answer questions and help you with the induction.
  5. Induction phase: In the first few weeks, the focus is on gradually introducing you to your tasks and processes. There are regular feedback meetings to discuss your progress and offer support.

This process helps to ease the transition into the company for new employees and to integrate them quickly, both professionally and socially.
