In pipe and pipeline construction, technical brushes essentially perform the following functions:
Weld seam processing
Welding processes produce welding residues that must be removed before the next welding process. LESSMANN pipeline brushes were specially developed for the professional processing of weld seams in pipe construction or pipeline construction. These pipeline brushes are particularly narrow and are therefore suitable for cleaning all weld seams on pipe connections. The user benefits noticeably from the first-class quality of these high-quality special tools.
LESSMANN pipeline brushes are available in various designs and with various trim materials. Brushes embedded in plastic or brushes with alternating braids are also available.
Deburring of cut edges
During the manufacture or further processing of pipes, burrs are created on the cut edges after the pipes have been cut, which can be removed with LESSMANN brushes.
In pipe deburring systems equipped with round or roller brushes, the pipe is rotated around its own axis during transport. This means that the brushes can reach all burr edges both inside and outside the pipe and can completely remove the burr or round it off in a defined way.
When manually deburring saw cuts, table deburrers or grinding blocks are usually used.
Removing pipe coatings (cut back)
In order to be able to remove the coating from pipes mechanically with brushes, several cut back rings are usually mounted together. This creates a solid and powerful brush. The diameter, wire thickness and other requirements for the brush are determined by the diameter of the pipe, the material of the coatings and the cut back machine used.
Pipe internal cleaning / pigging
LESSMANN internal brushes are used both in the pipeline industry and in the maintenance of small pipes to clean the inside of the pipes.
For cleaning pipeline pipes, special designs made of different brush types are developed depending on the requirements.
Pipelines in which crude oil is transported, for example, also have to be cleaned regularly from the inside. In order to transport crude oil, it is heated, which causes paraffin (wax) to separate from the crude oil and build up on the inside walls of the pipes.
Since the pipes are regularly checked for cracks, the deposited paraffin and other residues must be removed. It is also important to have a clean inside of the pipe in order to keep the performance of the line constant.
Essential
LESSMANN brushes are essential tools for a wide range of applications in pipe and pipeline construction and in the oil industry
